The State of Wisconsin – Welfare Benefits contradicts all their document processing. They keep forgetting to post up all these new RULES and REGULATIONS when it comes to renewing or applying for benefits online. Heck, they can’t even keep their website organized. I have taken a look at all the information on their website, they lacked an easy nice professional design to help people who track their own benefits. Sad, but true.
While I was renewing my benefits, the process NEVER has asked if I wanted to apply or sign up for the BadgerCare. So, how are we supposed to know if we are actually signing up for BadgerCare when it doesn’t say anything in relation to our health care benefits. The web tools doesn’t give us enough options to click. I have tried so hard to contact the Department of Health Services, Human Resources Services here in Green Bay and State of Wisconsin CDPU (Centralized Document Processing Unit). I HEARD NOTHING FROM THEM, NOT A PEEP!
They are lazy at doing their jobs no matter how many times you write, call or e-mail them in regards to your welfare benefits. From a professional perspective, they lacked the quality to satisfy their charges in ways that matters, if I was their bosses I would fire them all in a heartbeat. They were hired for a reason, not just sit around and chat like some I have observed in the past whenever I walked into their offices and give them the documents they requested. I don’t care if they have hundreds of applicants, if they can’t do their jobs, why are they there in the first place? Hello, you were hired to serve, not TALK or visiting your Facebook pages.
Do you know what happened to me when I wrote to my case worker, she didn’t even bother opening up my letter. Her assistance did, she didn’t even bother to call me for an in person interview when I REQUESTED it. I wanted to meet her so that she could get to know me and do her job on my behalf. She never took the initiative, I did. It just goes to show that the people who are supposed to help you out don’t care at all. Do you want to know what her assistance said, “apply online.” What, are you kidding me? Seriously…! I applied online, I renewed my benefits, I wanted to sign up for BadgerCare and I wasn’t given that option when I re-applied online.
I am DENIED because I don’t have a child to take care and unqualified because I don’t meet the REQUIREMENTS.
Well, let’s see what those “requirements” really are according to the website:
The BadgerCare Plus Core Plan provides access to health care services to long-term uninsured adults. If your income is at or below 200% of the federal guidelines (for current income guidelines, go to badgercareplus.org/fpl.htm); are age 19 through 64 who do not have children or do not have dependent children under age 19 living with you, you may be able to enroll in the BadgerCare Plus Core Plan.
So according to the website, I am qualified because I don’t have any income and below poverty level. I am thirty years old with no children and do not have any dependent children living with me. I am entitled to be enrolled into the BadgerCare Plus Core Plan because I AM UNINSURED. Yet, on my letter it says I NEVER applied for the BadgerCare.
This is what it says on my letter from the State of Wisconsin Centralized Document Processing Unit in Janesville, WI:
SEE: To get health care benefits, you must be a child under age 19, a relative who lives with and takes care of a child under 19, pregnant, disabled, age 65 or older, or blind. You do not meet these rules.
SEE: The person who applied said that you do not want this benefit.
Hmmm… Let me see, according to the website it says that I AM qualified. However, according the the State of Wisconsin, I AM NOT.
So the State of Wisconsin says that because I have Osteoarthritis (an INCURABLE DISEASE), unemployed, uninsured, no income what so ever, I AM STILL UNQUALIFIED.
